Sound Editing
1. Pre-Production & Planning

Provide technical specifications for broadcast release.

Receive locked picture and reel breakdown from the editorial team.

Establish spotting session schedule with the director.
2. Spotting Session

Review the reel with the director to determine sound design elements and mixing goals.
-
Identify necessary ADR, and specific sound effects areas.
-
Define creative direction for soundscapes and atmospheric enhancement.
3. Editing and Review (film broken into 2 reels)

Sync and clean recorded dialogue tracks, removing background noise and inconsistencies.

Record or design Foley elements for movement, props, and environmental interactions
-
Layer ambient sounds for realistic depth and environmental immersion.
-
Enhance atmospheric elements to match the scene's mood.
-
Create custom sound design elements to enhance the emotional tone of each scene.
-
Submit integrated edits (cleanup and all Sound effects) per reel for one client review and feedback.
4. Music Integration & Final Mixing

Balance all elements (dialogue, Foley, effects, music) for clarity and dynamic impact.

Ensure compliance with technical specifications for broadcast release.

Submit final mix for full reel for one client review before mastering.
5. Mastering & Format Delivery

Making final adjustments for Final client review before mastering
-
Ensure compatibility with different sound formats (Stereo, 5.1 Surround).
-
Prepare final stems (Dialogue, FX, Music) for delivery.
Film Scoring
1. Pre-Scoring Preparation
-
Receive locked picture and reel breakdown from the production team.
-
Confirm cue sheet requirements and establish spotting session date with the director/producer.
-
Gather references for tone, musical themes, and required instrumentation.
2. Spotting Session

Watch the reel with the director to determine music placement.
-
Discuss emotional impact, timing, and transitions between cues.
-
Finalize a cue list with clear instructions for each scene.
3. Composition, Review & Refinements
-
Begin composition based on the cue sheet.
-
Develop themes and motifs, creating MIDI mock-ups.
-
Submit mock-ups for first client review and receive feedback
-
Incorporate feedback from the director/producer.
-
Submit a second client review for approval
-
Mix and master each cue to fit the reel dynamically.
4. Approval & Deliverables
-
Ensure all cues are correctly placed, locked and synced properly with the reel.

Submit final stems and session files for integration. (Internal - Final Mix is withing the same studio)
-
Provide a Cue Sheet for submission to performing rights organizations. (Internal - Final Mix is withing the same studio) - Cue sheet will be shared upon completion.
